For now, main IP cameras are using following two way to storage videos. One is to storage the videos into local. The other one is to storage the video into the cloud. Then, which one is better？ It depends on your needs. So today let’s have a look at these two storage ways.
Local
Like many common IP cameras, they all support local storage. Basically they use the micro SD card and they may max. support 128GB. Users can set the record mode like Loop recording or motion detection recording. When the SD is full, the new videos will cover the old ones if you choose loop recording mode. But local storage is still a good choice, because you don’t have to worry about your video will come out by the cloud storage companies. And also local storage is free. You don’t have to pay the bills.
Cloud storage
Nowadays, many new IP cameras support cloud storage. But as I said a moment ago, you need to pay the bill for the service. Mostly maybe 65RMB per month. The advantages are that you don’t need to worry about the size of memory card. And some of the important videos can’t be covered. Still, cloud storage has some risks. The hackers are omnipotent after all. Internet user data leakage is a common concern.
