Synectics to Showcase Surveillance Solutions at Offshore Europe
Source: Synectics
Synectics will be demonstrating its surveillance solutions for the oil and gas industry at this year’s Offshore Europe, including the recently released – COEX? C3000 HD IP camera station.

An expert in delivering end-to-end surveillance systems for the world’s most demanding environments, Synectics has been at the forefront of oil and gas safety and security for decades and this year celebrated the 30th anniversary of its COEX brand. Recent high profile projects in the region benefitting from Synectics solutions include Clair Ridge, Quad 204 and Laggan Tormore.

In addition to the HD IP COEX camera stations, which feature on-board H.264 AVC high profile (MPEG4 part 10) compression technology that removes the need for separate encoder units and has a rated temperature of +70°C, visitors to stand 3A45 in the EIC Pavilion at Offshore Europe will also be able to witness other important camera solutions developed specifically for the sector.

The C2000 TriMode is one such advancement – a camera station suitable for IP and fiber applications which enables seamless switching between color, mono and thermal imaging at the touch of a button, guaranteeing image excellence in all light conditions.

All C-range camera stations are lightweight, corrosion resistant and certified to international standards (including ATEX, IECEx for the C3000 models). Their enhanced capabilities and ruggedized design make them ideal for protecting oil, gas and marine applications such as platforms, FPSO / FSOs and LPG / LNG tanker vessels.

Synectics will also be demonstrating the latest features of its open architecture command and control platform – Synergy 3.

John MacKay, Business Development Manager at Synectics, said: “One of the key reasons we’ve become such a trusted and valued partner to the oil and gas industry is that we are able to offer truly end-to-end surveillance solutions. While our camera stations offer high quality image capture ideally suited to the market, Synergy 3 intelligently integrates with a wide range of third party systems, such as radar, ECDIS, access control, fire and gas detection, and process control. Delivering visual, audio and numerical data into a single environment provides complete real-time situational awareness for the project.”

In addition to numerous third party integrations, Synergy 3 provides other important benefits for the offshore sector. These include:

Scalability – open platform structure and tiered licensing means the surveillance solution can grow in size to meet changing customer needs/project expansion.

Remote / lone worker monitoring - enables remote control of offshore cameras for unmanned sites and lone worker scenarios.

Reliability – multiple layers of hardware, software and network resiliency protect against data loss and downtime.

John MacKay said: “Events such as Offshore Europe are so important. They provide us with an opportunity to meet with customers face-to-face and demonstrate how our solutions solve challenges that oil and gas professionals encounter on a daily basis. We have been supporting the oil and gas industry for thirty years and shows like this enable us to demonstrate why our solutions continue to stand the test of time.”
