Synectics to Supply Surveillance for Fleet of New European Metro Trains

Global surveillance business Synectics has won a contract to supply networked video recording solutions for a fleet of new metro trains that will serve a major European city.

The fleet is being introduced to replace and supplement existing vehicles on one of Europe's busiest, most rapidly expanding metro systems between 2018 and 2021. Each train will feature the latest evolution of Synectics' robust on-vehicle recording system with Synergy 3 at its core.

Synectics Synergy 3 solution facilitates networked recording, storage, and superior retention of high-quality footage from third-party IP cameras. The flexible, open-architecture platform features built-in diagnostics to quickly identify and alert operators of any potential issues for improved interior surveillance.

Specified by Siemens, on behalf of the metro system operator which Synectics has supported for over a decade, the surveillance specialist had to prove its solution matched an exacting brief in terms of form, fit, and function.
