Synectics Champions Connected Control at Railtex 2017

Transport hubs and networks, particularly rail, are essential to global logistics, economies and daily life. Our reliance on them is the very thing which makes them vulnerable to threat, and security a priority.

Rail operators also have to ensure passenger safety, deliver a good journey experience and maintain service efficiency at all times. It’s a complex challenge, but one global surveillance company Synectics, attending Railtex 2017 (NEC, Birmingham, 9-11 May), believes technology can overcome.

On stand T04, Synectics will be showcasing solutions used by some of the world’s busiest transport hubs and service operators including its own Synergy 3 command and control platform, which enables data from third-party systems to be monitored and managed within a single, unified environment.

Integrated, open architecture solutions like Synergy 3 enable operators to gather real time data from all parts of their rail network. Stringent security enforcement, improved passenger safety and enhanced customer service can all be achieved by adopting technology that is available right now.

The global surveillance specialist will also be exhibiting their robust and reliable on-vehicle recording solutions, including the T1600 digital video recorder (DVR), a flexible solution capable of recording both analogue and higher-quality IP camera inputs.

Synectics has supported the global transport market for over 30 years. Its on-vehicle and infrastructure solutions protect over 3 billion passengers journeys worldwide, giving the provider a frontline view of changing industry requirements and expectations.

John Tinson, Systems Consultant at Synectics, said: “Integrated surveillance is the future for safeguarding multi-national rail networks, the people who use and maintain them and, the goods and assets they carry. It is also a future that operators can start moving towards now.

“Synectics’ background in mobile, infrastructure and public space protection make it one of only a handful of suppliers able to deliver end-to-end, surveillance and security solutions that connect the entire transport landscape ? promoting passenger safety, experience and increased security on trains, and in busy public areas such as platforms and stations.”

Iain Stringer, Sales and Marketing Director at Synectics, added: “Railtex is an important platform for the UK and global rail market that brings together a wide range of industry experts. We’re looking forward to meeting with customers to share our knowledge and expertise.

“With rail passenger numbers expanding, governments and operators are investing huge sums in train vehicles and transport infrastructure – they need failsafe surveillance that performs day in, day out. As well as showcasing Synectics’ solutions that put transport operators in control of the data they manage and helps support cost-effective IP migration strategies, we will also present the measures that can be adopted to deliver assurance of system reliability.”
