Qihan has recently launched an advanced AHD system on to the market. The first product in this solution range is the AHD PTZ camera that supports UTC technology and features thoughtful aesthetic design, high resolution, high integration potential, ease of use, at a cost-effective price point.

With the strong development of technologies in high-definition (HD) CCTV and the increasing commercial applications in video surveillance, and with the obvious differences in resolution, transmission distance, and wiring systems, various market analysts are now reporting that the new HD solutions will soon replace the traditional SD-resolution analogue systems.

According to Qihan their new Analogue High-Definition (AHD) is a new specification and standard for HD surveillance products and solutions for video surveillance worldwide. After conducting various surveys and studying the market, Qihan learned that AHD answers its customers’ demands for HD resolution, long distance, high performance, and simple operation. To effectively break the transmission limitations of traditional HD technology, Qihan has engineered its AHD products to transmit megapixel HD video data fast at low-cost over long distances, without interference and without delay.

The Qihan UTC AHD PTZ camera, UTC-7310, adopts a globally-advanced micro-processor to output high-processing performance and high-definition video. The camera uses a high-performance CMOS sensor to reproduce (up to) 720p resolution with good low-lux sensitivity. The UTC-7310 supports 37X optical and 16X digital zoom (max) and 0°~360°horizontal continuou rotation with 0°~90°vertical flip to ensure surveillance without blind zones. The PTZ camera also supports auto-iris, auto-focus, AWB, BLC, Low-lux (colour/BW) auto/manual switch, to generate vivid,high definition video at all times.

As it utilises the QH-C (control) protocol that supports UTC-standard coaxial video control technology, it allows users to setup the cameraOSD menu and to operate the PTZ functions via video cable directly without the requrement for a traditional keyboard. This function will not only save cost in terms of purchasing keyboards but it will also break with traditional limitations in using the device. Qihan's UTC AHD solution offers an easier and more convenient experience in system installation and operation.

With proprietary innovative smart surveillance technology, Qihan's cameras and solutions feature a self-checking temperature function; when the temperature rises to a particular setting value under emergency conditions, such as during a fire, the Qihan device will generate an audible buzz and turn the camera operation off automatically. A timing reboot facility is offered to force the system to turn back on again.

The housing of the UTC-7310 is rain-proof and includes lightning protection, and it is also vandal-proof for outdoor applications. This AHD PTZ camera has a 3D positioning function, different to usual PTZ control, it provides an easy yet efficient control with a preview screen to ensure that the functions of positioning/ frame selection/ control etc. are in the optimum position for best performance.
