Wanjiaan Interconnected Technology is awarded with being named in the 2019 Security 50 list again. This year, the company ranked in 32nd place with 4.5 percent growth in 2018. The company talked to a&s to discuss how the company reviewed its development in 2019.

2019 has been quite a fruitful year for Wanjiaan Interconnected Technology. The company, a professional video surveillance OEM/ODM service provider, has launched a multitude of new products in artificial intelligence (AI) and full-color cameras this year.
Louis Guan,
Executive Vice President,
Wanjiaan Interconnected Technology
Louis Guan, Executive Vice President of Wanjiaan Interconnected Technology said, “The industry now aims to provide more situational awareness to people in the security environment in order to build up better crime prevention methods, in order to stop crime before it happens. That is why AI has become a must-have technology for security products. With this developing trend, our company introduced a large amount of AI-related features, such as facial recognition, people and vehicle detection, and audio analysis with GPS, this year to advance our top-notch product line.”

New opportunities

Regardless of the current dispute between China and the US, the company still sees many new opportunities from both markets. Guan said, “The two markets now are migrating from two megapixel to extra high-resolution products, such as four megapixel and 4K. Both markets are also highly interested in adopting AI to ensure extra security in their society. This is why we believe there are good opportunities for a company like ours, which is able to provide a full range of products in the video surveillance, including analog and IP products, from entry-levelled to the advanced product lines.”

In terms of the special products, this year, the company also launched warm light full color cameras, which provide color images no matter if it’s daytime or late in the evening by adding an extra low illumining sensor to the camera. Guan said, “With this product, users can have a higher situational awareness at night. Their surveillance systems can quickly track the suspicious activity anytime anywhere.”

Even though the US-China Trade War has caused some barriers for some Chinese companies to enter the US market, however, Wanjiaan remains positive about the US market. Guan commented, “China is very strong in the security manufacturing industry which has a complete supply chain, from key components to finished products. I don’t think any company outside of China can easily or quickly surpass Chinese manufacturers, especially in providing OEM/ODM services for big brands. That is why I think the high-growing Chinese company like Wanjiaan can still grow well in the US.”

OEM professional services

Wanjiaan is a professional video surveillance manufacturer, which only provides OEM/ODM services outside of China. “Therefore, we have to co-work with our customers very closely, to get highly involved with their new product development. Especially in the Middle East and the APAC region, we already worked with the top leading brands locally. Next year, we would like to explore more in the US and Europe to grow further.”

Supply solutions to home market

In China, Wanjiaan has supplied their solutions and technology to some vertical markets. Recently, the company supplied their video surveillance solution to be used in the protection of electric power plants and their substations with the overall aim of achieving high security even in unmanned monitoring environments. “With thermal imaging sensors and integration of video and access control, we can ensure all the activities on the premises are well monitored in these industrial sites,” said Guan.

Besides B2B, Wanjiaan also continues to penetrate into B2C markets, such as smart home solutions.  This year, the company has released an end to end smart home solution, which integrates video surveillance products, intrusion alarms, door locks, and other home automation devices into one system. With the technology of Tencent’s cloud, users can use smartphones to control and monitor their home they’re away.

Understanding the end users

Accumulating the substantial experience in multiple vertical markets and the B2C market helps the company understand more about end users and produce products which can solve problems for them. The company remains optimistic about its future regardless of the recent challenges.
