Smart technology takes Wanjiaan to next level

Smart technology takes Wanjiaan to next level
Established in 2003, Wanjiaan Interconnected Technology is an international high-tech enterprise, providing video and IoT devices and services. At present, it has 22 local branch offices in China and is expanding its overseas operations to 80 countries and areas. The company keeps its growth momentum in the competitive and fast-changing environment through continuous R&D efforts and astute investment in innovation.
Founded in Shenzhen, Wanjiaan Interconnected Technology (Wanjiaan) was publicly listed on an over-the-counter (OTC) system in November 2015, and the New OTC innovation level in June 2016. The company specializes in smart security, commercial, home and city solutions and one-stop service. At present, its products and solutions are widely applied in retail, education, banking and transportation verticals. Seeing the growth potential of smart security solutions, the company started to put the “smarts” into its video surveillance systems in 2013. This year, the company introduced a new series of IP products that support H.265 codec technology, smart front-end and storage products, and smart cloud solutions.

The company has achieved significant sales growth at around 30 percent for two consecutive years. To maintain its leadership in such a competitive market, the company believes product innovation and reliability are the cornerstones of its business success. The company attributes its outstanding performances to constant investment in new products and technologies, especially IP-based and smart solutions. “We’ve invested in IP and smart solutions in recent years. Those segments are growing exponentially with exceptional sales figures,” said Zhang Neng Feng, Chairman and CEO of Wanjiaan Interconnected Technology.

Seeing growing momentum in the Internet of Things (IoT), Wanjiaan has started to develop IoT solutions based on its video technology since 2012. The company has rolled out intelligent integrated solutions and online video service platform, WORTHCLOUD. The two product lines are expected to contribute to considerable sales growth in coming years.

Innovation by AI and Cloud Services

Looking to the future, the company employs smart technologies to develop the latest products, solutions and services to address market needs. “Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), IoT, big data and cloud computing are expected to reshape the global security industry. With smart technologies, security solutions can provide more value when applied in various verticals,”said Zhang.

It’s a megatrend to introduce intelligent solutions into surveillance systems. IHS Markit research indicated that facial recognition has been a requirement for new city surveillance projects in China since 2007. “It is often specified in tender documents for safe city projects, signaling that the shift toward deep learning-based video analytics is well underway in China,” Zhang said.

Wanjiaan integrates deep learning technology and data analytics into its video surveillance solutions that feature facial recognition as well as behavior and vehicle identifications for public security and safety applications like rail transit and commercial uses. The company employs a deep neural network (DNN) model and its algorithms to achieve more precise object recognition.

AI now impressively improves efficiency and the identification capabilities of surveillance systems. For example, smart cameras (with AI) can identify vehicle features like color, type and model, and the deep-learning technology enables more reliable video surveillance through accurate video analytics.

AI can also be used to calculate people and traffic flows, detect illegal parking and driving offenses, or to observe crowd behavior and detect signs of violence in a more effective way. These intelligent systems can offer more powerful and efficient surveillance monitoring and management.

The company’s cloud video platform, WORTHCLOUD, features real-time video and voice (RTV), cloud storage and live video streaming. Based on peer-to-peer technology, the WORTHCLOUD platform supports smooth high-quality audio and video streaming among smart devices, being widely applied in security, smart home and smart robot applications.

China Drives Security Market Growth

Zhang indicated that China holds the lion’s share of the global security market. The Chinese government plays a vital role to push the industry forward. “Chinese public and private sectors all place great emphasis on the security industry. We could see a number of major governmental initiatives like smart cities and the Xueliang project driving the installation of video surveillance systems through replacement of new high-definition and intelligent products.”

The company sees business opportunities in Asia Pacific and South America, two fast-growing areas for the company. “Quite a few national governments in those two regions follow China’s development path to install security systems to make cities safe and secure. We think China provides a prime example for the countries when they initiate any safe city programs,” Zhang observed.

To be well-positioned for future growth, it’s essential to embrace new technologies and keep up with industry trends. Over the next few years, Wanjiaan will continue providing secure, convenient and easy-to-use video services. The company aims to provide top-notch smart video services and IoT solutions to change and improve users’ lives as well as optimize commercial applications and city management, allowing people to live a smart life. “In 2018, we believe our new H.265 IP product series, smart front-end and storage products, smart cloud products and solutions will take the company to the next level,” said Zhang.
