November 24, 2011 Hikvision released an auto tracking high-speed analog dome camera which allows users to protect wide-area locations without on-site manned operation.
Among the most notable features, the auto tracking capability in the iDS-2AF1-517-B camera can recognize unusual objects in a scene that are consistent with an intruder or abnormal activity such as entry, exit and loitering etc, and adjust its current pre-defined patrol or pattern to track the object as though the camera were being operated by a human.
When the dome is not in intelligent tracking mode, users have optimum flexibility as to PTZ settings and can precisely pre-define configuration for auto-patrol, pattern or park action with 256 presets and eight patrols.
Another highlight of this camera is the ability to restore PTZ and lens status after reboot. If a temporary power outage occurs, the dome’s intelligent memory function during reboot means that instead of returning to the home position (and staying inactive) as many competitive offerings do, the iDS-2AF1-517-B will revert to its exact tour number or pre-set prior to the loss of power and continue its patrol.
Flexible optical performance means the camera can meet current demands for versatile functions in complex environments. With cost efficiency being a major consideration, the dome’s rich auto tracking capability allows users to drastically reduce their wage bill for manned guarding, and return on investment (ROI) in these Hikvision cameras is almost immediate.
Features such as 3D digital noise reduction and 128x WDR mean the dome can deliver superior image quality, allowing users to see clearly in almost any monitoring location including those with difficult lighting conditions such as extensive shadow, glare and reflection. 36x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom allow detailed monitoring and enable facial and license plate recognition.
Programmable privacy masking means the camera meets current demands for socially responsible use of CCTV and respecting of sensitive privacy zones. Users can create 24 privacy mask zones with a maximum of eight zones simultaneously on the same video screen. Operating conditions in environmentally demanding locations can be checked with the camera’s built-in sensor which displays internal temperature.
The iDS-2AF1-517-B uses a ?” SONY EXVIEW HAD progressive scan CCD and is available for both PAL and NTSC. Day-night usage is achieved with an IR cut filter and minimum illumination is 1.4Lux@F1.6 (color) or 0.01Lux@F1.6 (B&W). Shutter speed range is 1/3-1/10,000s.
The iDS-2AF1-517-B is particularly effective for users at sites including airports, prison exteriors, railway lines, harbors, river frontage and residential communities, with the auto tracking being particularly valuable for perimeter protection.
