TBS is a collection of biometric tools including the Biometrics Automated Toolset - Army, the Biometrics Identification System for Access and Hand-held Interagency Identity Detection Equipment systems. Developed and fielded by the Army's Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems, TBS devices collect fingerprints, iris scans, facial photos and biographical information on persons of interest. The biometric data is then matched against a database, potentially identifying wanted or dangerous persons. Through this subcontract, SAIC will provide operations and user maintenance support to help ensure continued, reliable technical support of TBS systems, peripherals and networks.

"SAIC has provided DoD's Biometric Campaign with engineering, design, development, training, operations and maintenance support since 2003," said John Thomas, SAIC senior VP and business unit GM. "We look forward to contributing to the growing biometrics support our fighting men and women are receiving throughout the world."
