Product testing: Unisinsight 4MP network camera

Product testing: Unisinsight 4MP network camera
Unisinsight’s IPC5421-AT-L 4MP network offers exceptional image quality, intelligence and durability. This article takes a closer look, based on product testing by a&s China.
With AI and smart algorithms, security cameras have become more intelligent than ever, able to detect suspicious activities and alert operators accordingly. Unisinsight’s IPC5421-AT-L 4MP network camera is such a smart device offering exceptional image quality, intelligence and durability. This article takes a closer look, based on product testing by a&s China.

Color-capturing in lowlight scenes

The camera adopts a box design and is equipped with a 1/1.8-inch 4MP CMOS sensor, which ensures the clarity of recorded image. The camera can output three streams at the same time, with the main stream offering a maximum resolution of 2688 x 1520 at 25 frames per second. The device uses an F1.0 aperture lens, which brings in more light and ensures superb color capturing even in lowlight environments. A warm light that is automatically activated when light becomes low will further help with lowlight capturing.

The camera employs the advanced region of interest (ROI) encoding technology. In the monitoring scene, certain areas are more or less irrelevant. Encoding the entire scene for high quality strains network bandwidth and video storage. The ROI encoding technology solves this problem well. With ROI, only regions of interest in the scene are encoded for high quality; standard compression is applied to non-regions of interest. This way, bandwidth usage and video storage space can be optimized. The IPC5421-AT-L camera supports eight regions of interest, providing more options to users.

In addition, the device supports advanced functions such as ultra-wide dynamic range, backlight compensation, strong light suppression, digital noise reduction and electronic image stabilization, enhancing the quality of video.

Smart algorithms support

Smartness is another hallmark of the camera. The IPC5421-AT-L has a built-in GPU chip that supports various deep learning algorithms. The camera allows accurate classification of people, motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles. Further, it can switch between three intelligent algorithm modes: snapshot, crowd counting, and AI detection, providing a smarter user experience, reducing workload and improving their work efficiency.

The camera also allows seamless upgrade, install and uninstall of algorithms. For cameras from some other brands, doing such will cause video capturing to be interrupted. The IPC5421-AT-L, on the other hand, will allow all this without disrupting video capturing, ensuring that there will be no monitoring gap during the algorithm upgrade/install process.

In addition, the IPC5421-AT-L supports alarm integration. When intruders are detected, the camera will trigger the alarm and flashing white light on the integrated device. The alarm information will also be sent to the operation center, allowing security personnel to take action. If the integrated device supports built-in mic and speaker functions, two-way communication between the operation center and the person in question can be conducted to dispel misunderstanding and save the trouble of security personnel going back and forth between the center and the site.

Strong and durable

As devices that work continuously, security cameras must be strong and durable. The IPC5421-AT-L has an IP67 protection rating. In an outside environment, the device can effectively resist dust, water, wind and rain. In terms of power supply, the camera supports DC12V and power-over-Ethernet, allowing users to choose based on their specific requirements.

In addition, the camera supports two alarm inputs and one alarm output, as well as one audio input and one audio output. In terms of storage, it can support up to 256G Micro SD card, saving users the trouble of constantly deleting videos to free up memory.

a&s review:

There are many network cameras on the market, but Unisinsight’s IPC5421-AT-L 4MP network camera stands out: its 4MP sensor and large aperture lens, combined with the fill light system, can capture full-color images 24 hours a day. Its high resolution allows every detail of the image to be clearly captured. The camera’s powerful intelligent algorithms provide strong assistance to security personnel, and its alarm integration can effectively deter intruders. These features make the IPC5421-AT-L a powerful yet cost-effective tool for 24/7 monitoring. It’s no wonder, then, that the camera has become a favorite among security users.
