Secutech 2023 will highlight Taiwanese manufacturers that provide turnkey smart solutions in security and beyond security, as well as showcase the latest trends in integrated AI and IoT smart security technology for multiple verticals.
3S System Technology – Taiwan SoC and smart vertical solutions
3S System Technology started out as a mobile software developer who leveraged its software expertise to develop AI-driven solutions for the security industry. This year, along with launching new products like their 2- and 4-channel multi-direction (multi-sensor) cameras targeting large site applications, 3S also highlighted its vertical-specific solutions and in-house AI SoC capabilities.
Over the years, the 3S solution portfolio has grown to cover specific solutions for multiple verticals such as healthcare, manufacturing, transportation and education. In the Taiwan market, Carol Chen, Senior Manufacturing Manager for 3S System Technology, identifies the strongest demand for their smart railway and military solution.
“Our thermal imaging technology and AI smart image analysis make it easy for the military to monitor their environment in real time, protect personnel and ensure normal operation by detecting abnormal situations. Body-worn cameras used by law enforcement and military officers can be easily integrated with our software platform, providing live views for better situational awareness,” said Chen.
With regards to their smart railway solution, transportation has always been considered a strong vertical for 3S as it offers customers a one-solution approach for hardware, design, software and AI analytics. “Our smart railway solution is already in place in many Taiwan MRT stations. Using AI object detection/recognition, we can apply cross-line detection for live monitoring to better protect passengers. Our AI solution pulls feeds from multiple cameras across the station into one platform, enabling operators to immediately respond which helps prevent accidents from taking place. Depending on customer requirements, we can add on features easily using our technical expertise in the field,” said Chen.
Made-in-Taiwan equipment and in-house smart AI SOC
According to Chen, research and development have remained a big focus for 3S. Not only are the hardware, software design done in-house, joint efforts with Taiwan IC Intellectual Property also led to the development of their own in-house SoC named “TalentNet” which are used for their high-level cameras requiring advanced AI functionality.
Using only Taiwan SoC in their products, 3S also does a lot of overseas business like in Southeast Asia, where they can assist customers with system design and integration. “In countries like the U.S., we work with partners who approach us for ODM, OEM or JDM business partnerships as we are internationally certified (NDAA and TAA compliant) and have a history of reliable manufacturing,” said Chen.
YUAN High-Tech – from video capture cards to visual management solutions
YUAN High-Tech’s main business is actually in video capture cards, being a manufacturer of video/audio products for nearly 30 years. They then parlayed this expertise into video capture cards for surveillance cameras in previous years. When the industry moved towards IP, YUAN responded by using its software capabilities to develop a complete visual management solution for security.
According to Paul Li, Account Sales for Yuan High-Tech, the highlight this year at Secutech Taiwan is their in-house solution that allows AI CMS. The YUAN AI vision capture system (an AI box based on Intel processors) works with any IP camera and enables real-time processing of four channels with customizable AI functionalities. The company also offers SDKs, SmartNVR (up to 8 channels of 1080p video) and SmartVMS security video monitoring solutions (both private cloud and public cloud powered by AWS are available).
Also on display this year is their intelligent transportation and factory solution. For smart factories, the intelligent factory solution can help in machine monitoring and worker safety – by ensuring that workers are wearing the appropriate safety gear/PPE and checking for worker errors. While their intelligent transportation solution has already been deployed in cities like Taidong for traffic flow analysis and a client case in Kaohsiung where it’s being used not just for license plate recognition but also to identify more than 30 types of cars.
Currently, YUAN is focused on B2B clients, working closely with systems integrators and distributors who use their solutions with their IP cameras. With their background in video capture solutions, they are involved in multiple verticals globally including healthcare, education, smart cities and more.
Dintek – expanding its cabling product portfolio
Dintek is a local manufacturer of network cables, cabling systems, networking tools and connectors. According to Jonas Cheng, Sales Manager, their products are widely used across multiple verticals like transportation, smart city, banking, government and hospitals - environments that require maximum bandwidth and minimum bit error rates.
"For security applications, cabling is particularly important for data and video transmission. What we offer customers is a total solution. Customers provide us with their project specifications (how many cameras or what materials will be used) and we design a total solution for them. Our components can be used with any brand of cameras, NVRs or DVRs," said Cheng. Data centers are of course an important customer base for Dintek, with the company offering a Light-LINKS data center solution.
A main focus for Dintek this year was making sure that their fiberoptic system offering is more complete and comprehensive. Another highlight is their new 19" plastic fiber-optic patch panel. "We have previously only offered a metal enclosure. The quality is better but it is heaver and the cost is higher. This year, we are offering more options to our customers with our plastic fiber-optic patch panel available in two types: fixed and sliding. This is lighter and can better accommodate customer budgets. As it is easier to install, this can be used for CCTV applications or building projects. We would pre-install all the adapters needed so they don't need to make additional purchases."
Currently, Dintek works closely mostly with distributors working on local projects across Southeast Asia, East Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
