Hisharp Industrial Solution
For Secutech 2022,
Hisharp chose to highlight its expertise in hardware combined with software and AI capabilities in their solution. On display are their new IP products from 1080p to 4K as well as their smart industrial solution. “One special feature of our industrial safety solution is that the features are separate from each other and can be combined to form a different application layer. For example, to identify a specific person, relying on facial technology alone might not be sufficient. So we can combine facial with behavioral or body action detection to increase accuracy. We can build a new AI model with the various features of the solution like facial recognition, license plate, fire detection,” said Morris Fan, FAE Manager at Hisharp.
“We’re trying to predict and prevent incidents or accidents from happening. With the use of body-worn cameras, we can count on the data collected to do this. If the moving camera stays still or the GPS is not right, or if the video is angled up 90 degrees, maybe the worker fell or a strange situation occurred. Identifying a potentially dangerous situation even just three minutes earlier could save a life,” added Fan.
Another feature this year is their flexible CMS platform. “This is not a fixed application like most other traditional VMS. Not only does it allow full central management, but we can modulize the GUI layout and redefine functions according to customer requirements,” shared Fan.
Pongee Access Control New Developments
Taiwanese manufacturer
Pongee Industries approach to developing products and technologies starts with looking at the building as a whole entity. “There are always two important aspects to monitor: people and cars. For this, we developed a total solution. From the access control readers, buttons and locks when a person enters the building to the lift access control system to car parking management and control,” said Hank Lee, Director of Operations at Pongee Industries.
When asked about new developments in Pongee’s portfolio. Lee shared two new features. “This year, we added QR codes to our solution. QR codes for access control can be convenient but they aren’t that secure because patterns can be easily copied and shared. What we did is to develop a program so our access control readers only register and accept QR codes on our app. It’s encrypted so it cannot be copied or replicated,” shared Lee.
“We have also partnered with international manufacturers to introduce open supervised device protocol (OSDP) for our access control devices,” said Lee. OSDP is an access control communications standard that increases system security as well as interoperability between access control and security products.
Armstrong AIoT lock and self-check in locker solutions
For
Armstrong Locks (Bai Fu), expanding their product line from mere hardware and locks was a natural progression to keep up with new technology trends and market demands. A highlight this year is their AIoT electronic door locks. “The lock can be opened with RFID, password, fingerprint or mechanical keys and can be outfitted with facial recognition, doorbell and wireless camera. As this is targeted towards people living alone or the elderly, sensors for smoke detection, carbon monoxide, fall detector can be connected to the system and accessed via app, alerting friends, family and even the authorities and opening the door automatically when help arrives.”
Another new focus for the company is its self-check-in locker systems. One uses an API that connects to an online booking system or app, allowing hotels or bnbs to send clients a QR code for the booked time or date, which prints a card out for them to access the locker. The other solution uses Bluetooth an app that would allow the user to open the locker within a pre-set time or date.
