Smart and safe factory for Industry 4.0 conference at Secutech Thailand

Smart and safe factory for Industry 4.0 conference at Secutech Thailand
Smart factories have become a hot topic in Thailand, with manufacturers realizing the importance of technology to enhance efficiency, safety, and overall competitiveness.
Smart factories have become a hot topic in Thailand, with manufacturers realizing the importance of technology to enhance efficiency, safety, and overall competitiveness.

In recent years, Thailand has established itself as an important manufacturing hub in the ASEAN region, garnering a reported US$136 billion in 2018 and the export industry contributing to more than 65 percent of the country’s GDP. This holds particularly true for the automotive industry where Thailand holds the lion share in the ASEAN market (49%). However, with rapid technology development and the rise of the Industrial Internet of Things, the country has been struggling to keep up with the necessary technological adoption for Industry 4.0.

Therefore, along with billion-dollar investments in infrastructure development, the government has made digitalization in this segment a priority in its Thailand 4.0 scheme. Aiming to help local manufacturers upgrade their business on the road to Industry 4.0, the Thai government has authorized over $6 billion for robotics and logistics upgrades, along with incentives to encourage factories to upgrade their technology and equipment.

The Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is an infrastructure development project that will play a key role in this endeavor. Focused on three eastern provinces — Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong, the purpose of the EEC is focused on fostering growth in 10 target industries (including automation and robotics) along with development of industrial estates, digital parks and infrastructure to support an export-bound industry.

Enabling smart, safe and connected factories for Industry 4.0

It is with this rising need in the market that Secutech Thailand will host a smart factory conference as part of its Smart City Solutions Week. Co-located with the Thailand Lighting Fair, Thailand Building Fair, and Digital Thailand Big Bang, the event is set to be the one-stop solution event for intelligent security, fire & safety, smart living, smart city solutions, and info security.

Designed for system integrators, distributors, project specifiers and industrial zone factory owners/management/decision makers, the smart factory conference will cover important topics for factories moving forward into Industry 4.0 such as factory digitalization, security for modern industrial facilities, fire safety regulations, and disaster management.

To ensure comprehensive coverage of the subject, the conference has invited local and international speakers to share their knowledge and expertise.

The Eastern Economic Corridor office and Mr. Somwang Boonrakcharoen, the President of the Thai-German Institute will speak on the future and transformation of smart factories in the country. While industry experts from ITS Integration System, KNX National Group (Thailand) Association, Ubergard, NewDVRs, and ZKTeco are set to talk on different aspects of security in smart factories, from access control, biometric solutions, IP public address system to IoT platform for industrial facilities.

Fire safety regulations, smart disaster prevention and equipment for lifesaving measures will be the focus for special invited speakers from Hexcel Solutions, JinWoo SMC and NARLabs.

The smart factory conference will also include a VIP tour of related exhibitors at the show to help attendees connect with the right partners and increase new business opportunities.

Maximizing attendee experience with personalized business matching services

Aside from the VIP tour for the smart factory conference, Secutech Thailand will offer free business matching services for visitors that are tailored to their individual needs and product requirements.
