Zeno Technology ZN-NC-IT2400-I3PS-MIC-3.6mm 4-megapixel IR HD Half-Dome IP Video Surveillance Camera is a HD multi-environment AI video surveillance camera with nighttime face recognition.

Sensible design for both indoor and outdoor applications

The Zeno Technology ZN-NC-IT2400-I3PS-MIC-3.6mm 4-megapixel IR HD Half-Dome IP Surveillance Camera (later referred to as the Zeno 4MP IR Half-Dome Camera) was sensibly designed with a white metal exterior shell. It is equipped with an IR fill light and sensor, which together act like a pair of gazing eyes. The camera measures 127 mm by 96 mm and only weighs 500 grams. It can operate in temperatures ranging from -30℃ up to 60℃, humidity of 10% to 90%, and is also rated IP66 waterproof and dust-proof. This camera is suitable for complex, changing outdoor environments, as well as indoor applications.
 
Additionally, the camera's interface is simple: there is only the power supply DC12V (±25%) and RJ45 10M/100M self-adaptive Ethernet port, it also supports PoE. Its convenient wiring makes it easy to use in construction applications. Testing revealed the the camera consumes less than 4W of energy — the camera does not exceed 4.5W even when the fill light is switched on.

4-Megapixel HD: Accurate color reproduction 

The Zeno 4MP IR Half-Dome Camera uses a 1/3" progressive scan CMOS sensor and a 3.6 mm M12 lens. The ZN-NC-IT2400 series of cameras include lens options of 2.8mm/6mm to better suit the needs of different environments. The series also uses H.265/H.264 compression standards, supports three transmission streams, high compression ratio, and can achieve high-quality images with low bandwidth. 
 
The camera uses H.265+, 2,560 x 1,440 at 25 fps and 2 Mbps under natural light conditions indoors. Due to the camera’s fixed lens, it has a minimum object distance of 4 meters. If the test card is unable to completely cover the lens, according to testing regulations the clarity and color are not accurate. However, actual test results confirmed the camera could be used in practical applications with good results. The clarity at 4 meters still reached 10,000 TVL. Colors were rendered very accurately, but were slightly lighter when measured against a 24-color chart.

Face recognition under low light

The Zeno 4MP IR Half-Dome Camera supports 2D/3D noise reduction, true wide dynamic range (WDR), digital WDR, and defog among other functions. The camera’s built-in EXIR dot matrix IR has an illumination distance of up to 30 meters. It supports IR-cut (auto-switching IR filter) with a minimum illumination. For color the lowest illumination required is 0.1 Lux at F1.2 (AGC on) and 0 Lux at F1.2 (AGC on) with IR. This allows the camera to achieve true day/night surveillance.
 
During testing, when the illumination was reduced to 0.1 Lux, the color surveillance screen changed to black and white, and the IR light turned on automatically. At this time, the surveillance screen was clean and clear, with virtually no noise. The dynamic toy train displayed no smearing. 
 
Next, after the tester set up face and tripwire detection, the face detection responded sensitively and the tripwire responded quickly. Overall, the camera performed very well under low-light conditions and the intelligent functions were not affected by low light.
 
When testing the camera’s WDR function, the true WDR and digital WDR were tested separately. First, after setting the digital WDR, the camera was placed in a backlit environment with bright and dark contrasts. After turning on the WDR, the glare around the filament, the glare around the doll, and the items in the background could be easily identified; the image was clear and structured. After turning on the true WDR function, the camera needed to be restarted. At this time, the image under the backlight of the indoor glare was darker compared to when the digital WDR was turned on. The tester then changed the surveillance image and turned the camera toward a real backlit environment outside a window. The image was structured and the surveillance results were good. Through this we can see that the dome camera’s WDR performs excellently. 

Intelligent monitoring day and night

The Zeno 4MP IR Half-Dome Camera supports the following intelligent functions: face detection, perimeter intrusion, left/stolen item, fence crossing, wrong-way detection, loitering detection, crowd detection, quantity statistics, license plate recognition, head counting, image color cast detection, image focus detection, and camera tampering detection. 
 
When the face recognition and tripwire detection were tested, the results showed that the intelligent behavior detection worked normally. It was responsive and fast (less than 1 second). The camera was able to clearly and quickly identify the face when it appeared in the scene and captured it — an alert could also be sent out, according to the camera’s settings. The small toy truck was instantly detected when it crossed the detection line and marked for tracking. It is also worth mentioning that the camera’s intelligent functions performed well under night surveillance conditions.

Direct connect to mobile phones make real-time viewing more convenient

The Zeno 4MP IR Half-Dome Camera also supports direct connection to mobile phones, as well as private network penetration. The mobile client VSS Mobile supports mobile phone monitoring for both Apple and Android systems. It can be connected to the mobile phone through three access methods: intranet IP, domain name, and P2P.
 
After installing VSS Mobile, press the “add” button in the device management settings list. To use the P2P access method, directly scan the QR code to add it successfully. Compared to a consumer camera which prints the QR code in the camera manual and on the bottom of the camera, the Zeno camera’s QR code needs to be generated via the computer management terminal. Although this process is slightly more cumbersome, it greatly improves security.
