In the years following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001, the industry almost reached its highest growth. However, there was only moderate growth from 2007 to 2009, during the great recession in the U.S. and then Europe. At present, the global security industry, especially the video surveillance segment, has maintained an average growth of 7 to 9 percent every year, according to the analysis of multiple researchers.
