RADWIN to demo its latest solutions for Smart City market in Secutech Thailand

RADWIN to demo its latest solutions for Smart City market in Secutech Thailand
asmag spoke to Ofer Nagar, General Manager, North Asia and Thailand at RADWIN, one of the companies exhibiting in Secutech Thailand about its plans for the show and the Thai market.
Video surveillance is a major pillar in safe and smart city projects around the world. The availability of cheaper and better cameras has allowed cities to deploy cameras, LPRs and other systems to ensure the citizens’ safety. However, apart from deploying cameras, cities must take into account the best way to connect these cameras to the command and control centers.

Choosing the right transmission solution is critical. Without it, a million-dollar investment in cameras can go down the drain if the command center doesn’t get real-time HD video.

Wireless communication systems are often chosen since they are the most economical and fastest to deploy in comparison to laying fiber optics. asmag spoke to Ofer Nagar, General Manager, North Asia and Thailand at RADWIN, one of the companies exhibiting in Secutech Thailand about its plans for the show and the Thai market. Secutech Thailand 2017, taking place at the BITEC convention center in Bangkok on 16-18 November, will be this year’s main venue to present smart city solutions to the Thai market.

RADWIN is a leading provider of point-to-multipoint, point-to-point and broadband wireless mobility solutions. RADWIN’s products for the Thai market are approved and certified by the Thai regulatory bodies, and Thailand is one of over 170 countries where the company’s solutions power broadband connectivity and video surveillance transmission for safe cities, smart cities, transportation security and border security.

asmag: How involved are you in the Thai market currently? Can you tell of any key projects you have been involved in?

Ofer Nagar,
General Manager,
North Asia and Thailand,
RADWIN
Ofer: We were very involved in the carrier market a few years back and have large networks installed with leading operators. Now we are focusing more on the vertical markets for security projects, smart cities and public transportation, working together with our local partners.

asmag: What are the most important vertical markets that you are targeting in Thailand?

Ofer: In Thailand we are focused on projects in the Safe and Smart City space, mainly for high speed connectivity and video surveillance applications. Other verticals include Oil & Gas, Ports, National Parks and Rail and Metros.

We see a greater need for high speed broadband connectivity and high definition video surveillance transmission for safe and smart cities as well as on broadband-on-the-move for rail and metro systems. With vast experience in deploying multiple connectivity solutions for security, public safety, municipality and transportation applications, we can better address the need for high quality, high definition video surveillance for fixed, nomadic and mobile applications.

asmag: Are you planning to launch any new products or services at the show?

Ofer: We will demo some of our existing products that have been used in similar deployments around the world. For example, our products have already been deployed by the Asian and European police bureaus to transmit high-quality video to the police control center. We are also planning to leverage this great venue to launch a new solution for the smart city market (come visit our booth to learn more!)

asmag: Any specific products you are demo-ing in the show?

Ofer: We will be demonstrating three main solutions at the show.

RADWIN 2000: A sub-6 GHz point-to-point solution which delivers 10 to 750 Mbps and is ideal for carriers and vertical markets that require high capacity backhaul and access connectivity.

RADWIN JET: A disruptive point-to-multipoint smart beamforming solution that is excellent for operation in heavily congested unlicensed and licensed bands where spectrum resources are scarce. Offering up to 750 Mbps per sector, this solution is ideal for residential and enterprise service providers since it delivers fiber-like connectivity with incomparable resiliency.

FiberinMotion: Deployed in railway and metro systems worldwide, powering applications such as broadband Wi-Fi for passengers, real-time high-definition CCTV, PIS, CBTC and more.
