Shany, an exhibitor of Secutech 2017, took to the show a variety of HD analog and IP cameras with value-added features to allow customers to do more with their devices.

HD analog cameras are high-definition cameras that send signals through the traditional coaxial cable. One benefit is the user can upgrade to HD without having to switch to an IP network; they can use their existing infrastructure. Shany’s HD analog portfolio includes cameras supporting AHD, HDCVI and HDTVI technologies.

Aside from the full HD resolution supported by all its AHD products, certain models include additional features. The StarLight full HD AHD camera, for example, features Sony’s 2.1 M STARVIS sensor with 0.02Lux@F1.2 low-light capability in color mode and 0.005Lux@F1.2 in black and white mode. Its AHD smart zoom cameras enable up to 10x zoom (f5-50mm) with smart motion zoom functions, letting users zoom in and zoom out with ease.

“Our main market is Japan. The fact our products are well recognized in Japan speaks volumes of the quality of our products,” a Shany spokesperson said. “We’re very proud.”

Shany also had on display its smart IoT camera with a multi-core CPU and open platform for IVS. The camera features an Intel Atom x5 processor that raises the camera’s computing power to support various analytics functions, for example people counting and facial recognition. As the analytics is done on the edge, what’s transmitted to the backend is just the metadata, thus reducing bandwidth consumption.

“We've got Intel inside. Before, IP cameras send the video to the backend server for analysis. For us, this is all done on the edge. The camera captures the video, does the analysis, and send the data to the network or cloud. This is definitely a trend,” the spokesperson said.

Aside from cameras, Shany also offers universal one cable power supply units that are designed to use with AHD, HDTVI, HDCVI and CVBS one-cable cameras. The units transmit power, video signals and control-over-coax signals via a single coaxial cable between the power units and cameras.
