Intelligent transport a key element in safe city

Intelligent transport a key element in safe city
Intelligent transport has become one of the key elements for smart city. The Intelligent Transportation Pavilion at Secutech this year displays a comprehensive selection of solutions for electronic toll collection (ETC) applications, traffic flow management, intelligent parking, vehicle telematics and other integrated solutions for public and private vehicles.

The VN-N991 vehicle detector from V5 Technologies adopts IVA technology to analyze and process video from surveillance cameras on the road or in a tunnel. By setting up the criteria required the analyzed traffic flow data is saved and exported through V5’s CMS. The collected data is used to better help traffic control and traffic system management.

Genetec showcased the KiwiVision analytics suite, which is a suite of analytic applications that transform video surveillance systems into pro-active security and intelligence tools. For traffic intelligence, KiwiVision is capable of vehicle counting up to four lanes and detects occupied parking spaces as well as vehicles parked in no parking zones while analyzing parking duration with the parking space analyzer.

Zulite, a systems integrator focused on video over fiber equipment, represented Siqura of TKH at the pavilion, showcasing the TrafficPTZ camera. With the camera, professional traffic control operators have the tools to react to unwanted situations on the road that might interrupt travelling on a road or motorway. It can be controlled from the traffic center control room as well as also automatically respond to external triggers like incident detection and data from other systems.

Sunsky, a Taiwan-based manufacturer for both traffic and safety equipment and intelligent traffic control systems showcased their smart parking system. Featuring intersection guidance displays (IGD), numerical message signs (NMS) and variable message signs (VMS), the system shows drivers which directions to take and where parking spaces are. The occupancy of each parking space is constantly monitored by the system via an ultrasonic bay monitoring sensor, so to distribute parking spaces to oncoming drivers, manage parking lot charge and effectively bill illegally parked vehicles.

Other companies who were present at the pavilion include Dahua Technology, Hi Sharp, Hwacom and Seagate.
