Security robot claimed to cut monitoring and reporting costs by half

NXT Robotics, maker of indoor and outdoor security robots, has said that the use of its robot for physical security purposes could cut costs by half.

“Our offerings saves customers from 30 percent to over 50 percent on the costs associated with physical security monitoring and reporting – while also providing a predictable and consistent quality of service,” said Jeff Debrosse, Founder and CTO of NXT Robotics.

The company offers two security robots, Scorpion for outdoor and IRIS for indoor. It is one of the few companies that have entered both the markets simultaneously.

“Scorpion is an autonomous outdoor security patrol that lowers costs while maximizing physical security surveillance capabilities,” Debrosse said.  “The Scorpion’s rugged outdoor design, multi-camera use, video capture and rich sensor payload helps secure assets and ensure public safety while navigating challenging environments.”

The company’s second robot, a patent-pending autonomous indoor mobile security platform (IRIS), is an intelligent and automated solution that enables cost-effective and efficient operations of security monitoring and reporting services. This means that security-related tasks are able to be efficiently scheduled and completed with full reporting and the ability to adjust scheduled jobs/tasks based on workloads, events, etc.  Enhanced camera and sensor capabilities, video capture and threat sensors help secure assets and public safety while maintaining a professional aesthetic with its sleek design.

NXT Robotics sees strong demand for the products for various reasons. Commercial locations require security staffing to monitor assorted activities, as well as, environmental variables such as sudden temperature changes, open flames, gas leaks, gunshots, shattering glass and other events. These simple, repetitive tasks are performed by people and the costs related to hiring, training, salary and benefits make security staffing economically difficult to scale.

Experts confirm the rise in demand. According to IBIS Security Services, this demand will be seen through 2024. According to Stealth Monitoring, it will be driven by rising urbanization, the real and perceived risks of crime and terrorism, and a belief that public safety measures are insufficient.
