SCATI camera solution supports steel producing facilities in Spain

SCATI camera solution supports steel producing facilities in Spain
SCATI's solution enables the Company to visually manage the processes remotely thanks to the cameras able to support high temperatures
As one of the main steel and mining producers, the company is present in 60 countries. This steel industry has facilities in the North Spain, in regions that ensure the efficient use of raw materials and the optimal product dispatch. It is the only integral steel plant in Spain, able to produce steel from iron ore.

In these steels plants, with demanding workflows, it is necessary to have control of the barrels link in the dumping incandescent iron process. That is why it is critical to the company to have visual confirmation of the processes from the operators crane crab via touch monitor.

The 24 cameras installed in the plant are able to support high temperatures, something really important in facilities like these. The captured images are visualized and manage remotely by the users thanks to the advance video recording platforms from SCATI. These multitasking recording tools SCATI VISION are managed from a control center with SCATI WATCHER and SCATI WALL.

With the first of these solutions (SCATI WATCHER) the Security Department of this industry has a software to remote and easy administration of the entire pool of video recorders. Its multiple functionalities cover all the possible needs: viewing, equipment set-up, alarm management, advanced searches, map management, setting up groups of devices, etc.

The operator is able to view images in real-time and recorded video, export videos, receive and manage events and alarms by groups and time schedules, configure remotely the recorders, monitor video matrices, manage maps, create groups of cameras and recorders to facilitate management and manage users.

At the same time, the professional monitoring solution SCATI WALL allows the operator to implement scenario and camera sequence settings, PTZ camera operation, digital zoom to identify individuals, etc. This tool offers high incident response capabilities thanks to automatic viewing of images associated with alarms.

The smart security solution implemented by SCATI in this industry is completed by a wireless communication solution with the cabins cranes and the tactile interface for security management SCATI TOUCH. This application simplifies security management from a touch monitor, simple and intuitive, even for operators with few technical skills. Its interface can be used to select cameras, display and search for images in real time and recorded video locally and download it onto a USB memory stick.

Thanks to SCATI TOUCH, warnings can be issued automatically and the use of the application can be monitored constantly by the operator from the control center. The user can also create videos and send them to a remote control center for their supervision. At the same time, some actions can be performed remotely from the control center such as supervising the status of the SCATI TOUCH USB memory.

The video surveillance platform from SCATI enables the company to supervise industrial processes using video, which is a clear added value in the facilities management. Thanks to the industrial processes supervision the company achieves performance improvements. Viewing and monitoring technology can be used in these steel plants for immediate or forensic identification of system defects or faults and therefore reduce their cost.

On-site production process traceability can be enhanced by remote management or supervision from any location to provide this steel industry with a differential value versus its competitors. In particular, in steel plants like this, one of the most important things is to have control of the barrels link in the dumping incandescent iron process, something that can be done by the visual confirmation from the crane crab via touch monitor.

Furthermore, having control of everything happening in the plant, the company is able to reduce thefts of property and damages caused in the facilities.
