Fujitsu has announced six new mobile devices with several operators in Japan, using embedded swipe sensor technology from Fingerprint Cards. The announcement relates to four Android smartphones and two Android tablet PCs. The products will start to sell in operator stores in Japan during the fourth quarter of 2013. This is FPC's first launch for a tablet PC to date.

“Finger sensors in smart devices have become an increasingly essential way to ensure that these devices are secure and at the same time improve convenience and user experience for the user. Finger sensors in smartphones, and now also tablets, have become something of a trademark for Fujitsu. After the successful launch using technology from Fingerprint Cards, we are happy to expand this cooperation and partnership” says Katsumi Takada, head of Mobile Phone Group of Fujitsu.

Johan Carlstrom, President and Chief Executive Officer of FPC, comments:“The Japanese market is renowned globally for its high quality and performance standards. Fujitsu and Japanese operators are the world's most experienced users of finger sensors. It gives me great pleasure to see six new mobile devices announced, so soon after the successful launch with Fujitsu in July. I am especially happy to see our technology being launched for the first time in a tablet PC, our next big market opportunity. This launch is another major milestone for FPC and evidence of FPC's world-leading position as technology supplier of capacitive fingerprint sensors with highest quality, best image quality and lowest power consumption.”
