70 percent of project-based and government bidding in Taiwan have gone IP while projects in Taipei took up 50 percent, followed by cases in Kaohsiung. However, cases in Taichung are still analog-oriented, some of which even analog exclusive.

Concluding with the its resounding success, Taiwan Security Road Show 2013 consisted of several seminars focusing on HD solutions and industrial safety and risk management. Here are some trends and findings from the show:

IP Demand Evident
70 percent of project-based and government bidding in Taiwan have gone IP while projects in Taipei took up 50 percent, followed by cases in Kaohsiung. However, cases in Taichung are still analog-oriented, some of which even analog exclusive.

From the perspective of verticals, current hybrid systems for traffic monitoring will gradually be upgraded to full IP ones. On the other hand, residential and commercial sectors such as apartment buildings, retails, and temples are still analog-based.

Total Solution Shines
To ride with this IP tide, local integrators were searching for collaborating opportunities via the show. Despite with great numbers of cameras and NVRs, many local brands are still insufficient with large scale IP integration experiences and outgunned by international brands. With advantages of complete product line, scalable and flexible solutions, and extensive international experiences, foreign brands such as Axis Communications, Bosch Security are winning big contracts. It is expeted that Arecont Vision, Avigilon, Genetec, Mobotix , Milestone Systems, Nice Systems and many more will join the pursuit.

Make it or Break it
Under this weather of IP migration, local brands are eager to reorganized their business structure and maximize IP offerings. For those manufacturers who successfully move from analog to IP such as Dynacolor and Hunt Electronic, fruitful rewards are reflected in revenues and profits. Automation controller and software provider, Adcantech, rejoins the security market to take market share as well.
