US Market Update: ADT Private Security Services

US Market Update: ADT Private Security Services
We have been around in Mexico since 1999, and we are currently No. 1 security and safety service provider, with more than 126,000 customers (40 percent in residential, 60 percent in commercial and enterprise). We are also the only one in Mexico certified by the Ministry of Public Security, as we screen and do background checks on every employee. This reassures our customers’ and potential customers’ confidence in our quality services.

We have invested a lot in our monitoring center, to ensure it is the largest and has the best technology available in Latin America. For example, when Chile was struck by the 8.8 earthquake last year, our center took over the overall operations in minutes, so there was no lapse in our Chilean customers' security and safety. We also have our own power stations that can sustain operations for at least three months. In addition to intrusion, panic and fire alarms, we provide private medical services throughout the country as well. Last year, we answered more than 1.6 million calls/requests in total.

Crime rates in the last couple of years have increased drastically, which translate to growth potential for us. US companies, on average, spend 7 percent of their budget on security, whereas in Mexico the average is only 2 percent. And in residential, there is an estimated total of 2.1 million households in Mexico. Therefore, we have our work cut out for us. We are committed to reaching out to all underserved niches and areas, and are always improving our services and support nationwide — even post-sales!
