Vivotek announced rapid worldwide growth in sales of its megapixel network cameras in the first quarter of 2010 as a result of remarkable sales growth with a full range of 2-megapixel cameras. According to market research firm IMS Research, Vivotek has made impressive market share gains in EMEA and the Americas.
"Megapixel cameras are the video surveillance industry's fastest growing product segment with their high resolution, detailed images, offering greater performance compared to conventional VGA cameras," said Alastair Hayfield, Research Manager at IMS Research.
"Since we launched the concept of true megapixel solutions in April of last year, Vivotek has not only worked hard to overcome the biggest challenges that megapixel cameras have faced including bandwidth, storage usage, and CPU loading, but also to educate users about the benefits of megapixel technologies," said William Ku, Director of Brand Business Division for Vivotek. "Now that we offer a comprehensive range of megapixel network cameras with H.264 compression, we fully expect continued growth in a variety of applications and countries around the world."
