Adtech Global Solutions Acquires VMS Provider Telindus Surveillance Solutions

With a continuous commitment to adding technology to its portfolio of product offerings, Adtech Global Solutions (AGS) acquired intellectual property and the ongoing business operations of Telindus Surveillance Solutions (TSS), a subsidiary of Telindus Group and part of the Belgacom Group of Companies. The asset purchase includes the full CellStack product line, including the recently released CIRIS VMS suite. As part of the deal, AGS will also assume responsibility for supporting TSS’ worldwide customers and existing deployments.

As part of the deal, AGS will also assume responsibility for supporting TSS' worldwide customers and existing deployments.

The transaction allows AGS to broaden its portfolio of network media products, starting with infrastructure-classVMS which complements its Steelbox technology acquired in early 2009. The combination of the Steelbox media appliances and CIRIS VMS software, coupled with a line of broadcast-quality codecs and support for a host of other M-JPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and H.264 devices, positions AGS to provide its network of resellers a complete suite of fully interoperable, open standards based media management solutions, specifically aimed at the enterprise, infrastructure and transportation sectors.

"This transaction provides continuity and on-going support for existing TSS/CellStack customers worldwide," said Sean Huggett, GM of TSS and Operations Director at Telindus UK. "In an OEM capacity, TSS has developed upon, installed and supported Steelbox technology for a number of years alongside CellStack products, for critical infrastructure projects in the U.K., Belgium, Switzerland, Russia and Korea. It makes perfect sense for these complementary products to be developed and deployed as part of the same holistic solution and this transaction benefits customers, Telindus and AGS alike. AGS remains a key partner to Telindus UK, where Steelbox technology is deployed as part of the still expanding NRTS UK Highways telecommunications project and we expect to see our partnership strengthen as a result of this transaction."

With the acquisition of the Steelbox technology in 2009, AGS made a calculated move to invest in products that will enable the company to capitalize on a growing market for digital media. AGS has an 11-year track record as a global technology company. With the TSS transaction, AGS has created a group under the Adtech Global Solutions corporate umbrella called Network Media.

The immediate focus for the Network Media group will be developing, marketing, deploying and supporting comprehensive network media solutions for the physical security market. This line of products, consistent with TSS' legacy will be marketed under the CellStack brand name.

"The Steelbox asset acquisition proved to be a very successful move by AGS," said Nik Moissiadis, VP of AGS, who will lead the Network Media group. "The opportunity to acquire TSS' business provides us with the perfect complement to Steelbox technology by pairing it with already interoperable products, and with extensive existing deployments worldwide."

"The inherent interoperability between CIRIS and its predecessor, CIS and the Steelbox appliances, allows us to deliver total solutions to our channel partners in a very short timeframe," Moissiadis said. "Although this acquisition allows us to service the needs of our customers with a truly comprehensive CellStack solution, Network Media will continue down the path of developing stand-alone, open-standards products which can be integrated with other industry products and technologies that will ultimately serve our customers' needs. While we are making a calculated move to expand our product offerings, we fully understand the need to continue to form partnerships and multiple go-to-market strategies to benefit our channel partners and ultimately the end-user."

At the heart of the CellStack line lies the Steelbox technology and products. Its patented technology offers unparalleled media switching, recording and playback capabilities to power end-to-end video management and security infrastructures. The company will continue to maintain and expand a distinct R&D team and product roadmap for the Steelbox technology, developing features and solutions for the surveillance sector, as well as other streaming media-centric applications and verticals.

"The acquisitions of Steelbox, and now TSS, fit within our long term growth strategy to leverage our overall global services organization through a group of technologies and products," said Tim Shadburn, CEO at AGS. This complementary pairing broadens our expertise in the security market and provides continued room for growth."
