ICx Technologies announced it won a US$9 million contract by the Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA) of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for mobile integrated surveillance systems.
Under the contract, ICx will provide its integrated millimeter wave ground-based radar and thermal/surveillance imaging systems on mobile tactical platforms for deployment around critical infrastructure sites to provide comprehensive wide-area surveillance. The systems will detect, track and identify threats before the perimeter is crossed, providing security officials with decision support and increased response time.
In 2009, ICx opened a regional Middle East office to support this and other significant perimeter security projects.
