Siemens Launches Network Cameras to Simplify Networked Video Surveillance

Recognizing the increasing demand for networked video surveillance in business applications such as shops, small offices, or even homes, Siemens Building Technologies has introduced a new range of in- and outdoor network color cameras.

Recognizing the increasing demand for networked video surveillance in business applications such as shops, small offices, or even homes, Siemens Building Technologies has introduced a new range of in- and outdoor network color cameras.

This range of cameras support dual-streaming in MPEG-4 and M-JPEG, providing the capacity to determine the resolution and quality dependent on the receiving devices such as DVRs, a PC or a 3G mobile phone.

The cameras, which can be wall- or ceiling-mounted, are delivering clear video over long distances through advanced image processing and higher light sensitivity. The CCIC1410-LAW model also supports WLAN capability, making installation even easier by removing the need for additional network cabling.

Other features include motion detection (optimizing hard disk storage) and e-mail notification in the event of an alarm being triggered, allowing the current status of the business or home to be viewed remotely. A digital input and output allow connection of an external sensor and alarm.

A highlight from the range is the network color PTZ dome camera. Offering VGA resolution and MPEG-4/M-JPEG streaming, it delivers crisp video images.

The model utilizes a precise integrated pan-and-tilt mechanism to provide easy tracking of moving objects or automatic positioning to the required scenery view. The camera supports up to 64 presets that can be called up either manually by an operator or set automatically to focus in on a desired area of interest. Combining this PTZ dome with housings / accessories from the Siemens CCDA dome range, this IP dome can also be used in outdoor applications.
