Axis Communications received the Swedish Export Prize from His Majesty the King at an award ceremony held at Cirkus in Stockholm. The award is given to a "Swedish company that has displayed a strong export trend during recent years with successes on several markets, which at the same time displays good profitability and positive development of the Swedish operations.

Axis Communications was the first to launch network cameras. Through rapid product development and a sales model, where Axis systematically supported its distributors via its own offices, the company has captured the position of international market provider.

"We are proud that Axis Communications has received the Swedish Export Prize in competition with a number of other successful Swedish companies. Axis has shown strong growth over the past five years and the company's sales, as well as international sales, have tripled. We see a great interest for our network video products worldwide and we have expanded globally through establishment of local offices, most recently in Beijing, Sao Paulo and Moscow,” said Ray Mauritsson, President of Axis Communications.

Axis has long experience of global operations and today 95 percent of sales are exported. Axis has been active internationally since its foundation in 1984 and the company reaches about 70 markets throughout the world with the assistance of 25,000 partners.

Axis Communications is market provider within network video products and Axis' surveillance cameras are currently used in schools in the US and England, at the airport in Sydney, in the Moscow metro and on trains in Switzerland, for public surveillance in France and for surveillance of dams in China, among other places. Network video products account for 96 percent of Axis' new sales.
