Sagem Securite once again selected by Malaysia for New-generation Biometric ID system

Sagem Securite (SAFRAN Group) announced today that it has been selected by Malaysia, in international bidding, to supply the latest version of its MetaMorpho(TM) 4.0 automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS). Designed for use in criminal cases, this new-generation AFIS will replace the current system deployed by the Royal Malaysian Police, also supplied by Sagem Securite.

MetaMorpho 4.0 features the latest biometric comparison algorithms developed by Sagem Securite. This new version will provide a significant improvement in performance over the current system, and help meet emerging real-time criminal identification requirements.

Sagem Securite will deliver a turnkey ten-finger and palm identification solution to Malaysia, based on a central AFIS workstation and several dedicated stations. Several mobile stations will meet the requirements of rapid mobilization task forces.
