Alertex Lockdown now offers desktop alerts

Alertex Lockdown now offers desktop alerts
When Alertex is activated, any laptop or computer on the same network will instantly show a custom on-screen alert that matches your lockdown procedures. Alerts can be silent or include a sound. Because the system runs on your local network, it reduces cyber security risks.
Luminite is introducing a major upgrade to Alertex: desktop alerts.

You can choose a basic option using the Alertex enhanced IP Bridge, or a more advanced emergency communication system.

Basic desktop alert

When Alertex is activated, any laptop or computer on the same network will instantly show a custom on-screen alert that matches your lockdown procedures. Alerts can be silent or include a sound. Because the system runs on your local network, it reduces cyber security risks.

Staff can quickly see which device triggered the alert and log into the Alertex portal to take action, such as notifying key personnel or updating messages.

The basic system can be used on unlimited screens with your existing IP Bridge for a one-off licence fee of £200.

Advanced destop alert

For organisations that need a more advanced solution, Luminite also offers an interactive messaging system. This displays a lockdown message along with a built-in audible siren. It also includes zoning features, so you can send alerts to specific areas if needed. Prices start at £650 for a starter package for up to 10 screens growing to a Pro system for up to 60 screens. Larger sites can be accommodated. An annual subscription fee is applicable.

Clear and fast communication is essential for meeting Martyn’s Law requirements. These new options help improve coordination during emergencies, providing secure, network-based alerts to suit different budgets.

Graham Creek, Managing Director of Luminite Electronics, said: “This upgrade helps schools respond faster and more effectively. Basic desktop alerts make sure important information reaches every room quickly, so staff can act with confidence. For those who need it, a more advanced option is also available—making desktop alerts accessible to all Alertex customers, whatever their budget.
