Gunnebo has achieved a silver rating by globally trusted sustainability rating EcoVadis, affirming its dedication to sustainable business practices and corporate responsibility.

EcoVadis is an independent sustainability assessment platform used globally to evaluate organizations across environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The rating reflects how well companies are embedding sustainability principles into their operations through formal policies, consistent processes and measurable results.

The move from bronze in 2024 to silver rating in 2025, acknowledges Gunnebo’s work to refine environmental management frameworks, increase internal awareness of human rights requirements and enhance the clarity of ethical guidelines that apply throughout the business. These initiatives form part of the company’s long-term approach to responsible operations and continuous improvement.

Per Hokfelt, Head of Sustainability at Gunnebo, says: “EcoVadis gives us an evidence-based assessment to help us understand how well our policies and systems are functioning in practice. The improvement to silver is great news to demonstrate how our work to formalize processes and make improvements every day is taking effect, and they offer clear insight into the areas where further alignment will strengthen our overall performance.”

The EcoVadis assessment highlighted clear environmental procedures and a structured monitoring of indicators such as energy use and emissions. It recognized consistency in health and safety practices across sites and improved internal training on labor and human rights.

In the ethics category, the group’s guidance on responsible conduct and more defined processes for raising and addressing concerns was highlighted. Sustainable procurement improvements were noted through clearer supplier requirements and increased transparency in supply chain documentation.

Gunnebo’s silver standing reflects the wider commitment to responsible business practices. It provides a benchmark that supports planning and helps ensure sustainability considerations are embedded in daily operations.

Fredrik Fors, SVP Sustainability at Gunnebo added: “The silver rating shows the steps we have taken are creating a stronger platform for future work. It supports our aim to integrate sustainability more deeply into decision making and helps us focus on activities that will deliver measurable progress over time. This gives us a clearer path of continuous improvement as we evolve and develop our sustainability program.”
