VIVOTEK unveils AI-powered Deep Search and Event Insight at ISC West 2025 in bid to revolutionize surveillance UX

VIVOTEK unveils AI-powered Deep Search and Event Insight at ISC West 2025 in bid to revolutionize surveillance UX
At ISC West 2025, VIVOTEK introduced Deep Search and Event Insight—AI-driven tools enhancing surveillance UX, case management, and real-time response.
At ISC West 2025, VIVOTEK unveiled new AI surveillance tools that it said will revolutionize user experience (UX) on its cloud-based Vortex platform.

Introducing new Deep Search features for the platform's AI-Hub, VIVOTEK USA Director of Sales Stephen Litton II pointed to the company's semantic search as a key differentiator in the intelligent video analytics market.

Streamlining case management

The company's new offering helps security teams streamline real-time monitoring, automated case management and the overall workflow in tracking security incidents——key challenges in today’s smart security systems, Litton said.

The central innovation lies in the way security personnel can interact with the Vortex interface intuitively.

“Let's say they search for a person in a cowboy hat,” Litton said as he explained the new case management workflow. A simple search for “cowboy hat” gives them all people wearing cowboy hats who were detected by the cameras, he added.

“Deep Search also features optical character recognition,” Litton explained, showcasing how Vortex can search footage of people wearing, for example, clothes with the logos of certain sports brands.

While Deep Search allows users to quickly find relevant footage after an event, another new feature, called Event Insight, provides more detailed context for triggered events in real-time, highlighting key details such as the best shot of the triggering object, event duration, trajectory and the rule and time associated with the event.

AI-integration all the way

“Our cameras' onboard AI is already doing initial filtering and sending the best possible picture of the target, whether a human or vehicle, up to the cloud, and then Vortex can do additional processing,” Litton said.

The AI-Hub for Vortex consolidates all AI-powered functionalities in one centralized space. It's designed as a hybrid platform that allows for the integration of existing surveillance infrastructure, making it accessible for clients who think, as Litton put it, “they're not ready for the cloud yet.”

Accessibility is indeed key for the Taipei-headquartered company, Litton stated, adding that another advantage is that Vortex requires “very little training.”

“There's very little manual configuration that has to be done,” he said. “We tailor what exactly [our clients] need. We're about solution-providing.”

This also includes tailor-made solutions for customers whose biggest pain point is managing costs amid market and geopolitical uncertainties, such as unstable import tariff regimes.

“The best part about VIVOTEK is that we work with our customers through those type of issues. If the tariffs happen, we're going to make sure that the pricing fits their business model,” Litton said.

New cameras featuring Deep Search

Meanwhile, the company also unveiled two new 5MP outdoor turret dome AI camera models at the trade show—the IT9383-HV and IT9383-HVW.

Aside from Deep Search integration, the new models feature AI-powered Smart Motion Detection and Smart VCA, the company said. They complement the C-Series lineup, which, according to VIVOTEK, provides a 2.5x improvement in dynamic range and light sensitivity, ensuring excellent visibility across various lighting conditions.

“The IT9383-HV and IT9383-HVW offer superior image performance in both daytime and nighttime, with enhanced investigative efficiency,” explained Albert Lin, VIVOTEK USA General Manager. “They ensure balanced exposure between dark and bright regions, delivering evenly-lit, well-exposed footage with balanced contrast, even within LED backlit displays.”

Winning technology

The unveiling of new features and hardware came on the back of what Litton called “a lot of wins recently,” including tenders won for new projects with public clients in the US, such as the Colorado Department of Corrections.

“We are prepping them for the cloud,” Litton said. The hybrid model, which includes cutting-edge AI and cloud features, but allows for the integration of heritage tech, is attractive for state and local government clients in the US.

“We're very engaged with data centers. Transportation is also big for us,” Litton said, adding that the company also works with players in the education industry, as well as train and other public transport operators—all of which are cost-conscious customers that benefit from the latest innovations, as long as they can introduce them to their existing infrastructure gradually.
