Edge-based AI analytics deliver 3 main benefits for video security applications. Adopting AI capabilities in cameras guarantees faster warnings in the event of threat detection, enabling faster data-driven analysis and decision-making. Second, AI enables to reduce transmission bandwidth usage as only necessary information is sent to the cloud, enhancing the effectiveness of the video security system. Third, edge-based analytics also reduce hardware and deployment costs since they require fewer on-site server resources.
In this talk Henderson discussed different examples of AI-enabled camera solutions such as multi sensor cameras and ANPR systems and why AI is becoming an increasingly important key element implemented in video security cameras.
