Taiwan security companies’ innovative spirit is on full display at Secutech as they employ some of the latest trendy technologies. It needs to be pointed out that AI, IoT and other technologies are just a means. Helping users solve real problems using these technologies is the key and is where Taiwan companies’ strength lies.

Moxa, for example, introduces its AIoT railway solution, whereby instead of human workers, a camera on a running train captures maintenance issues – such as loose fasteners on the tracks – via AI. This can then help operators achieve further management and operational efficiency.

ShineTech Electronic displays its AI Dual‐Technology Detector, which has human body temperature/ultrasound motion detectors combined with AHD camera to reduce false alarms. The solution is ideal especially for commercial/residential sectors.

HPB Optoelectronics meanwhile demonstrated its dynamic vision sensor (DVS) technology that addresses privacy issues. The solution only displays DVS images (white dots against black background), making it suitable for uses in hospitals and healthcare facilities, among other, where the privacy of patients must be protected. Patients’ irregular movements, like falls, can all be detected via AI, allowing operators to act accordingly.

Camera lens cleaning

Camera lens cleansing is needed especially during inclement weather conditions. HPB Optoelectronics also showcases its solution in this regard, a module that, when attached to the front of the camera, can help wipe rain, water, snow, ice, etc. off the lens.

In a similar manner, AETEK showcases its camera housing that includes a set of wipers and water tank. When the lens get wet or moist during inclement weather conditions, the cleaning mechanism can be initiated by operators remotely. AETEK’s customers including some major IP camera makers in the world. AETEK also has its hybrid PoE/fiber product on display, the latter extending power transmission to 3 kilometers, ideal for remote area monitoring.

Yoda Communications is showcasing a range of products/solutions at its booth. One highlight is the PS1026GFB 10-port switch with IEEE802.3bt PoE and 2 port SFP, enabling 8 x RJ-45 ports for Gigabit Ethernet connection and 2 x IEEE 802.3bt with maximum 90W per port PoE capacity, ideal especially for industrial and commercial sectors.

Most of the products on display at Secutech are Taiwan-made, which has various benefits including excellent quality and ability to customize. Especially amid geopolitical tensions in certain regions, MIT products are NDAA compliant and are attractive options for certain customers.
