With over 10,000 students and more than 1,300 staff, maintaining a safe learning environment and mitigating risk is a huge priority for Franklin Township Community School Corporation (FTCSC). Recognizing that their security cameras were outdated, the school district worked to install a system that offers the capabilities they need to help keep students, faculty and staff safe.
By working with Vermillion Systems to upgrade their solutions, FTCSC sought to gain exceptional image quality, powerful zoom control and longer video retention times to help them strengthen security and avoid the various costs associated with many types of security incidents.
Solution. FTCSC deployed a comprehensive
Avigilon and
Motorola Solutions security solution including more than 400 video security cameras with Avigilon Control Center (ACC) video management software, Avigilon Appearance Search technology, and an
Access Control Manager system.
These technologies complement the MOTOTRBO two-way radios that FTCSC uses to keep administrators in contact with its police department, allowing them to easily relay information that they gather from their Avigilon video security and access control system to officers so that they can quickly take action.
“We have seen a significant amount of savings — in terms of both finances and time — since switching to Avigilon. The Focus of Attention interface in
ACC 7 software makes it really easy to monitor our video feeds so we can identify potentially critical events with fewer eyes on our video screens, freeing up our police and administrators to take action. And since the technology is easy to use, it doesn’t require extensive training for users, which has been another big time-saver for us,” said Tyler Knight, Director of Technology, FTCSC.
