ZKTeco’s touchless biometric solution reducing risk of germs spreading

ZKTeco’s touchless biometric solution reducing risk of germs spreading
During the global outbreak, ZKTeco will always strive to create better, safer and privacy-driven solutions for people.
Since the beginning of 2020, the world has been facing a highly contagious disease – CoVID-19. The main symptoms are fevers and dry coughs, which are mainly spread by respiratory droplets that are highly infectious. Items touched by infected persons can also be contagious. Therefore, in daily life, it is necessary to avoid contact with items touched by other people, and a mask should be worn when going out. Meanwhile certain individuals may not be aware they have high body temperatures; without proper detecting measures they may easily sneak into populated places such as communities, schools, factories, office buildings and so on. Due to these circumstances, there are rising demands for solutions that are contactless and temperature-measurable.

To meet market demands, ZKTeco, a leader in biometrics, has quickly invested large resources in R&D, selecting certain products for upgrades and putting them into the market in a timely manner. To this end, we have launched the upgraded ProFace X[TD] and SpeedFace-V5L[TD], which, on top of their existing infrastructure, have been added with temperature measurement modules allowing temperature deviations of less than 0.3 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, on top of visible light recognition infrastructure, ProFace X[P] and SpeedFace-V5L[P] have been added with palm recognition, which has higher security, autonomy and privacy. The facial recognition technology captures face information of passers-by, yet due to the fact most of their faces have been covered with masks, recognition becomes slower. Palm recognition then can come in handy. ZKTeco’s palm print recognition angle reaches 60 degrees, enabling fast recognition speed by way of a short scan. With the help of the temperature measurement module and mask detection capability, the devices can effectively ensure the safety of personnel entering an area and reduce the possibility of personnel transmitting the virus. This way, staff can work in a safer environment.

We’ve combined visible light recognition with palm print recognition to realize completely contactless scenarios, enabling users to authenticate via various means to enter a certain area. In particular, the added palm print recognition has fast recognition speed, wide recognition angle and high recognition safety. And our products have large capacity. The flagship ProFace X[P], for example, has 5,000 1:N palm print templates. After adding the temperature measurement function, people with abnormal body temperatures can be quickly identified. And through our all-in-one security software platform ZKBioSecurity V5000, the user can conduct data registration and effectively monitor the situations of personnel. It can be used in offices, parks, factories and construction sites – areas where the population flow is not particularly large but access and verification of personnel must be strictly controlled.

During the global outbreak, ZKTeco will always strive to create better, safer and privacy-driven solutions for people.
