128 laser beam system & fastest mass-produced short-range LiDAR for blind spot detection
During CES 2020, the RoboSense 128-beam LiDAR RS-Ruby and the short-range blind spot LiDAR RS-BPearl were also showcased at CES with a public road demo and simultaneous demonstration at the RoboSense Booth. This super high-performance 128-beam LiDAR RS-Ruby possesses an ultra-high resolution of 0.1°, capable of object image detail with near pixel-level scanning. Combined with the range performance of 200m for a 10% reflectivity target, the RS-Ruby is capable of obstacle perception from a long distance of 200 meters. Meanwhile, the sensor has achieved a perfect balance between the consistency and distinction of reflectivity, further facilitating accurate road sign extraction and localization.
The RS-BPearl, the first mass-produced short-range LiDAR for blind-spot detection, reaches the minimum detection range of less than several centimeters, with hemispheric FOV coverage of 90 ° * 360 °, which not only precisely identifies objects around the vehicle’s body, but can also detect the actual height information in particular scenarios, such as with bridge tunnels and culverts, further improving autonomous driving decisions and greatly improving car safety.
RS-Fusion-P5 has included 4 embedded RS-BPearl around the vehicle and one RS-Ruby on the top, making it the perfect multi-LiDAR fusion solution for Robo-Taxi. It is able to achieve full coverage of the sensing area with zero blind spots in the vehicle's driving space.
