“We are a leader in the world with active RFID tags that can penetrate solar film on windshields,” said Edmund Wong, GM of Sales Division at EA MSC. “In Malaysia, 95 percent of vehicles have solar film, and 70 percent of high-end apartments use our system.”
The company is specialized in both access control hardware and software. “Our hardware products include readers, fingerprint technology, and controllers,” Wong said. “We also have our own software, which can control 1,200 doors.”
But the popularity and huge potential of RFID have also driven the company to this market niche. “One application is carpark facilities in mansions with barricades. You put the tag in the car, and the reader in the parking lot can detect it 5 meters away. If you are cleared, the gate will open,” he said.
According to Wong, the RFID solution sees huge market potential, especially in Southeast Asia. “In Kuala Lumpur, land is running out, and new buildings are usually high-rises with parking barricades. That's where our products come in. Similarly, there is also a construction boom in Thailand, which is developing its economy as well,” Wong said.
EA MSC products can be found in various vertical markets including government, hospitals, education, and corporate. In fact, they are used in commercial buildings and data centers in Malaysia.
