As a global leader for IP video surveillance Axis Communications has maintained a premium brand name with an impeccable reputation for quality. This is no different in China. Having entered the China market almost 20 years ago, Axis has been able to maintain a 40 percent growth rate over the last four years.

“Our strength is that we have a very premium branding, good reputation for quality of the products, and an open platform, which makes it easy to cooperate with any partners,” said Jimmy Li, Sales Director for China at Axis Communications. “Our team is only within 100 persons in China, but we have over 2,000 partners. Together with the partners, we are very strong.”

Despite the migration of many multinationals towards full, end-to-end solutions, Axis does not believe in going this direction. “We believe in best-of-breed solutions, meaning that you can work with specialists within different technologies,” Li said. “You can select Axis cameras, EMC's storage, and software from many different vendors that can meet your customization requirements. You can have the flexibility to select your own vendors. We think this is the future of the industry.”

Axis is also doing its part to help with the knowledge gap within the industry with the Axis Communications' Academy. The Academy provides courses for three different learning tracks: sales and business, system design, and installation and configuration; courses are offered online and classroom-based. In 2014 alone, 400 persons were trained in China through the Academy.
