Autocop Facility Security Division, a premiere one-stop shop distributor in India, continues to bank on the growth and evolvement of the security industry in India. According to Maulik Shah, CEO of Autocop, the security demand in the APAC region, and especially in India, remains strong. With the market experiencing a 25 percent growth rate over 2013, and a few key distributors and OEMs growing over 30 percent year-on-year, the country is witnessing a surge in new projects and emerging partners entering the security field. Amongst them, Shah specifically pointed to CCTV has the fastest growing segment and especially in IP systems. “A few verticals where we have seen more projects are government, commercial, IT/ITES, and banking,” said Shah. “The new Indian prime minister (Narendra Modi) is putting a special focus on developing smart cities and by 2019 plans to have 100 smart cities with superior infrastructure that will include surveillance and analytics solutions deployed,” he elaborated.

Looking forwards to 2015, Shah is expecting a 40 percent growth next year. Having grown 35 percent year-on-year, he further explained that Autocop will be turning their attention to focus more and key brands and models to drive growth for the next year. They will be shedding non-performing brands and put a renewed focus on refining technical and sales team plans in order to expand in major cities and in addition, will add specific team members and development teams for certain verticals. Another important aspect that Shah mentioned was the shift from box selling to a solution offering system, and that by becoming a value-added distributor and offering technical end-to-end solutions, paid commissioning, and training services, they will be able to better reach out to key markets via roadshows and events.
