Bangkok OA, a premiere distributor for Samsung Techwin in Thailand, distributes a complete range of security products to suit clients' different needs. Products offered by the companies include network cameras, analog cameras, digital recorders, monitors, controllers, access control, lenses, and other accessories.

The firm aims to diversify its product lines to offer different choices for customers. For example, those demanding HD images do not necessarily have to go with IP cameras, especially if they have a legacy system in place. Replacing the entire system with IP is an expensive proposition, considering labor cost in Thailand is high. Rather, the firm has got a complete line of analog cameras supporting the TVI standard, which also offers HD images comparable to those generated by IP cams.

Bangkok OA takes part in a variety of projects ranging from city surveillance to mass rapid transit. References include Krung Thai Bank, PTT Public Company Limited, Thammasat University, and Traffic and Transportation Department.

According to Arnon Kulawongvanich, MD at Bangkok OA, the Thai security market is expected to grow 10 percent this year. Commenting on the political turbulence in the country, he said long-term growth outweighs short-term pains. “The military takeover is good as it contributes to stable politics,” he said. “And the army can make use of the budget effectively, and that's good for everyone.”
