Samut Prakan District Court is eyeing the possibility of using electronic monitoring (EM) bracelets to keep taxi drivers and tour guides who were previously convicted for deceiving foreigners out of Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Department of Probation chief Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol said after the District Court of Northern Bangkok was successful in using EM bracelets to monitor those on probation for drunk driving, Samut Prakan District Court's chief justice Awiruth Chanchaikittikorn hopes to do the same with illegal cabbies and tour guides.

Ruenvadee said three agencies - the Samut Prakan District Court, Department of Probation and Airports Authority of Thailand - would discuss the possibility of using EM bracelets on those who had previously been charged of deceiving and harassing tourists. The EM bracelet usage would also be demonstrated in the meeting, she added.
