Shimizu, one of Japan's biggest general contractors, has lined up a trio of projects in Singapore worth a total of around $583 million.

The company has already started work on one of them: a roughly 90,000 sqm medical facility ordered by Singapore's health ministry. Comprising a hospital ward and a research center, the complex is slated for completion at the end of 2015.

The roughly $157 million order marks Shimizu's second such project in Singapore. The firm is one of the most sought after builders of medical facilities in Japan.

The other two contracts in Singapore are for an office building and a tunnel on the Thomson subway line, worth an estimated $274 million and $146 million, respectively.

Shimizu earns around $292 million in annual revenue in Singapore. The country is its biggest foreign market, accounting for 30-40% of overseas revenue.
