Bosch, genuine protection for Indonesia

As Indonesia emerges as the destination for international meetings and weddings, all sectors related, from airports to hotels, are vamping up security to make sure the sense of protection is genuinely felt by the public.

Mr. Ong Kah Seong, GM, Security Systems, Indonesia, Bosch Security Systems, observed that “many hotel chains have announced their plans for expansions all over Indonesia, with many mixed developments comprising hotel, residential, and retail.”

“With increasing air travel, almost every international airport in Indonesia is running at full capacity. The government has recognized the need for further development, and has committed to investing in building new airports and expanding existing airport capacities. The Jakarta airport is undergoing expansion, Bali has just completed a new airport terminal, Balikpapan will have a new terminal operational this year and the list goes on. Besides airports, the government is also investing in its seaports to increase container handling capacities to support trade growth.”

Ong is also positive about the growing adoption of security systems in both private and public sectors.

“Foreign investors understand the importance of investment in protection/security — while it is only a fraction of their total investment, it is crucial to protecting their capital investment and for investigating/recovering security violations. With increasing foreign investments in the market, we see local enterprises starting to realize the importance and reliability of security investments”

“We expect more projects from the private enterprises this year. But once the newly elected government is formed, we believe many government projects to develop infrastructure will start to take place.”
