The Development and Finance Surveillance Agency (BPKP) keeps conducting an audit of procurement of Transjakarta bus and Integrated City Bus (BKTB). Nevertheless, Jakarta Provincial Government insisted to buy new buses to add the amount of the fleet.

Jakarta Governor, Joko `Jokowi` Widodo disclosed that such procurement will remain to be conducted this year. The fund for its purchase was also already approved by Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) in 2014 City Budget (APBD). "Although there is problem, we will remain to buy the bus. The problem is still being audited by BPKP," he expressed, at City Hall, Wednesday (3/5).

He stated that until now, his party is still waiting for the audit results in order to pay off the remaining payments to a vendor who won the auction procurement of buses in 2013.

Jokowi also eager for Transjakarta buses purchased can be assembled in Indonesia. "I want the bus assembled in our country, but it should go through the auction," he hoped.

His party has not been able to calculate the amount of loss of the new rusty buses. Initially, Jakarta Transportation Department plans to operate 10 units of Transjakarta bus every week. There are at least 30 units operated since the beginning of the year. But it was stopped temporarily after being found the case of irregularities in its procurement.
