"Indeed, public areas like school fields, canteens and halls are also targeted spots for monitoring. The video footage helps schools to discourage theft, by tracing and recording evidence of any criminal activities. It is very common to install surveillance system in Hong Kong schools."
Most Hong Kong schools have installed analog system for more than 6-7 years. "Their main concerns are the video quality, resolution, reliability and ease of use. If budget is available, they would like to upgrade to HD and network solutions," added Ma. "In order for school to obtain the surveillance system, they have to estimate the new surveillance system budget, get the management approval for the budget and open tender for selecting suitable suppliers and installers."
"One of the universities in Hong Kong had installed around 220 pcs of HD cameras from TeleEye," said Ma. "The security guard would monitor the videos to protect the belongings for their students and avoid the break-in by burglars. The school perceived that the software interface is very user friendly and willing to continue on using TeleEye products in future."
