THE BASES Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) expects to bid out more than 1,000 hectares of land worth a total of P75 billion ($1.6 billion) this year.

BCDA President and CEO Arnel Paciano D. Casanova said the lands that will be offered for development are:

• 1,300 hectares in Clark Green City, Pampanga, worth P26.3 billion ($581 million);

• 33.5 hectares in Bonifacio South Pointe, Taguig City, worth P36.3 billion ($803 million);

• 16 hectares in Poro Point, La Union, worth P2 billion ($44 million);

• 7.2 hectares of former military camps in Metro Manila worth P3.5 billion ($77 million); and

• 12 hectares of special economic zones worth P6.87 billion ($151 million).

“The total value of the contracts, which we expect to bid out this year. But the lease payments will be staggered,” said Mr. Casanova.

BCDA is the agency entrusted with the management and sale of former military lands.

Mr. Casanova said the Poro Point and Clark Green City projects await final approval from President Benigno S. C. Aquino III.

Mr. Casanova also said BCDA will be crafting a master plan for the development of Camp Aguinaldo, Fort Magsaysay, Camp Peralta, Camp O'Donnell, Camp Kibaritan, and San Miguel Naval Station.

He said the agency is looking at tapping a Netherlands-based infrastructure advisory firm for the development of the master plan.
