In 2013, our growth mainly generated from new products, such as 960H and the plug & play HD IP solutions, according to Derek, Yang, General Sales Manager, Asia, Hikvision. In the past, our back-end devices were major contributors to our sales revenue. However, with more and more new front-end products coming out, our complete product lines are showing great potential in gaining market share in ASEAN, in particular in the emerging vertical sectors. From the demand perspective, ASEAN is showing increasing security needs.

Transportation and financial verticals have outstanding demands, for example, the city surveillance project in Bangkok and metro surveillance project in Singapore. "Our latest 960H solutions are adapted in Bangkok city surveillance, along with more than 12,000 cameras and 6,000 DVRs made by Hikvision," said Yang. "These cameras secured streets, cross roads, and important spots downtown Bangkok."

"All ASEAN countries are very important for us, and we will invest more resources in verticals with potentials," added Yang. "For instance, more local sales, technical teams, and total solutions will be launched in Asia to better meet the requirements of projects and local needs. Our goal in 2014 is to expand more distribution channels along with vertical market shares."
