UEM Construction Sdn Bhd and Bina Puri Sdn Bhd (BPSD), the joint-venture partners for the RM997 million (US$302 million) work package that makes up KL International Airport 2's (KLIA2) main terminal building, satellite building, sky bridge and piers, have once again committed to meeting the Jan 31, 2014 deadline.

Mohd Razin Ghazali, MD of UEM Builders Bhd, the parent company of UEM Construction Sdn Bhd, said the JV partners are working rigorously to ensure the physical completion of its package and to obtain the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) for its portion by Jan 31, 2014 and are doing so with the cooperation of various stakeholders namely, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, the project's various consultants and the authorities.

The package is one of 32 initial packages awarded by MAHB to various companies at the start of the project.
Bina Puri Holdings Bhd group executive director Matthew Tee, the holding company of BPSD, said despite the many challenges faced, the JV partners are working vigorously to meet the CCC deadline and for the Operational Readiness & Airport Transfer process to begin on Feb 1, 2014.
