Airport operator Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has formed a joint-venture with the Watad Group from Qatar, to provide facilities maintenance services to airports including the new Doha International Airport and other activities.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, MAHB said its wholly-owned subsidiary, MACS, has on Wednesday signed a shareholders agreement with the Doha-based Watad Group to form the JV, dubbed Malaysia Airports Consultancy Services Middle East LLC.
Watad will controls 51% and MAHB the remaining 49% in the JV help the latter to pursue opportunities in the development, operation and management of airport at the oversea markets, it said.
Watad Group was spanned off from Darwish Trading and Investment Company and was established by Darwish Abdullah Al Darwish who built Darwish Group of Companies in Qatar with interest extending throughout the Gulf.
